Al-Fajer Market

The Al-Fajer store project, located in the Hawalli district of Kuwait City, involves the renovation and rebranding of a 2,000 square meter floor space within an urban shopping mall. The Al-Fajer store specializes in offering organic and general Iranian products to the large Iranian community in Kuwait, blending Iranian identity with a contemporary spatial experience for its customers.

In this project, we aimed to adopt a modular and efficient construction approach, allowing for minimal on-site civil work while transforming the interior shell of the space. The design concept sought to create a modern environment that retains Iranian identity, with the combination of these two aspects leading us to explore the use of wood, glass, and suspended geometric forms. Spatial rhythms inspired by Iranian bazaars, redefined roles of ceilings and false ceilings, and the incorporation of traditional Iranian arches and domes, along with harmonious color palettes from raw materials, formed the essence of this design.
